Temporary exhibitions are often great. But this is only in one wing of the building. The central part houses the info center, auditorium and job center, all with interesting crazy designs. But another wing is easily forgotten, with the De Ploeg school, Memphis furniture and...More

The Groninger Museum houses very good temporary exhibitions in a striking building just across from the main station and on the edge of the old town. It is well worth a visit.

Starting from the 3 pavilions in the canal, extremely well designed museum. That's both as an artwork in itself, and also as a space to navigate. Signs are clear, and info panels are in Dutch, English & German. Some panels especially for kids. Collections range...More

The Dutch do great museums, and this is one of the best. Really well laid out, well thought out and a joy to explore.

This museum was very nice. There were beautiful and interesting paintings and the tour guide gave us nice information to enhance our viewing. Perfect size and not overwhelming.

The exhibitions were quite nice, though it was particularly cold inside the museum, I recommend bringing a cardigan. The audio guide confused us a bit as only the artworks with a symbol representing headphones had commentary and it took us a while to figure out....More

We came here on a very sunny day, not sure whether it was worthwhile entering when it was sunny outside. However, it was, largely due to the 2 temporary exhibitions (De Ploeg and Lachapelle). So before, entering you might want to check out if the...More

The first thing to say about the Groninger Museum is that the building itself is a work of art and, when arriving by train, it is more or less the first (and very striking) thing you see after emerging from the station. On our visit...More
