Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A small town and you don't have much to do or to see. Is nice on the new year's eve that there are a lot of firework near the lake. In the city center are a lot of pubs or restaurants.
The program at the restaurants are not that long. If you want to have a bite after 22pm you will find only Mc donalds

On the whole, our visit to Nijmegen was fine but it doesn’t carry the same enchanting characteristics as 's-Hertogenbosch nor Arnhem. There is some beauty in the old square and cobbled streets near to Kronenburgerpark, but it isn’t as large a town or as visually stunning. There are streets designed for retail therapy and newer areas where its buildings are more contemporary as a result of Bombardement op Nijmegen in 1944. Not a place to completely rule out, however.

It was interesting for me, no one early in the morning, so crowdy during the weekend. A lot of bicycles, flowers, canals..i like it.

Lived here for nine years during and after studying at the local university, and go back often because my daughter now goes to college there. Beautiful city on the river, warm and welcoming. Especially recommended during the third week of summer when it hosts the Four Day Marches accompanied with activities all around town. I also personally consider the surroundings of Nijmegen as one of the most beautiful areas (Groesbeek, Berg en Dal, etc), and it is adjacent to the German border. Cologne is about 90 minutes away by car. If you have the chance, don't miss it. You'll feel right at home.

One of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, Nijmegen offers a lot for a day trip (and is also a very pleasant place to stay in). The center is very nice and with great architecture, it has a quaint feeling to it, and it is also historically relevant due to the Waalbrug.

A must-do, besides just walking around the streets, is to see the muZIEum, a museum in which you can experience how it is to be a blind person through a guided tour in darkness led by a blind person. It's a moving experience and takes 1 hour only.

Our son was in university in Nijmegen, ergo our reasoning to stay here. We spent a day touring, and that is plenty. You can take the train to Delft or several other prettier or more interesting towns.
It's an hour bike ride to Germany - so fun 'option' if you are looking for things to do.

This is a beautiful place to visit. Not only do you see the famous Nijmegan bridge but the people are so lovely and helpful. For shopping there is everything you need, for eating there are plenty of Restaurants, Bars and cafes and a lovely little tobacconist on the corner who sell a lot of different items and is well stocked. There is are cobbled streets and some are a bit steep. There is a gorgeous park at the bottom that stretches a long way and another at the top with the statue. Wild life come and visit some cafes and that was lovely. Will be visiting there again. Not far from Weeze in Germany. Take train to Kleve then bus no 58 to Narjmegan. On the way you will see a few museums to look out for plus beautiful gardens where there is I think a lake or moat with a maze in the middle and the garden walks are lovely. The food at this tucked away restaurant is very very nice.
