The most northern Dead Sea beach on the western (Israeli) side, Just 25 minutes drive from Jerusalem. Simple and very accommodating beach; an open cafe with special water-cooling fans enables a 360° view over the Judean and the Jordanian desert and the Dead Sea.

The shore is large and allows shaded spots alongside sunbathing chairs. Another snack bar is located next to shore. Health treatments are available.

This is a bizarre experience. The parking lot is packed with tour buses and visitors are here from all over the world. Changing rooms are packed. Lots of snack bars which are in fact the lowest bars in the world at minus 750 feet. The experience of floating on the sea which is 30% salt is amazing. Watching hundreds of... More

A great beach to enjoy the Dead Sea, its the closest beach to Jerusalem (30 minutes drive). There are toilets, showers, dressing huts, restaurants, a juice stand and "The lowest bar in the world". Plenty of shade, chairs, tables and sun beds. The beach is very clean, there is staff walking around all the time picking up things and cleaning. You... More

One of the girls I was with had been to the Dead Sea before but a different location, she was grossed out with this one and apologized to us. There was trash everywhere and even saw three pairs of underwear. Muddy and slimy not good!!! Do yourselves a favor and drive down a little further to En Gedi Spa, it's... More

Had an amazing time at Kalia Beach in the Dead Sea. It is at the north most tip of the Dead Sea and closest beach to Jerusalem. Here you can enjoy the mineral rich water and mud of the Dead Sea, which is great for your skin! The Beach Park has free parking and for a small entrance fee that... More

It's so cool. To be able to float on the water without doing anything...just lay there on your back and you float. Not on your stomach. There may be other places to do this (?) but this has got to be the best. Kalia Beach was not that crowded on the Wednesday mid-afternoon we went, there were definitely people around,... More

My dad and I didn't spend much time in the water. We both wanted to float to say we tried it, and to experience it, but honestly, it was pretty gross feeling walking through the mud. It's very slimy and slippery. It was nice to stop and have a drink at the lowest bar in the world though! We also... More

Gooey mud and very salty water that make you float. A must experience that need to be taken at least once in a lifetime. Facilities in Kalia is ok and the restaurant is pretty fairly good.

We were told to take water shoes and silly me took flip flops. They were useless as they just stuck to the mud and I couldn't move. Take proper water shoes. We were there on an extremely busy time being a Friday and also Passover. The water was quite a walk down wooden stairs and across unpaved areas. If you... More

The dead sea stop off point for an hour to bob about in this strange lake! Facilities OK, not the best. Lockers and refreshments available for those who need them. A little walk down to the water, take shoes and keep them on! Be mindful not to go in with any jewelry on, especially Silver.... have fun!
