Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Freitag brothers started their business around 20 years ago, using truck tarps to craft functional and resistant bags (originally meant to carry their own designs and stuff when cycling across Zürich).
The simplicity and power of the idea did not change over time and with the enrichment of the products range: today Freitag manufactures hand-made and unique bags, accessories (e.g. laptop cases) and also a nice collection of clothes.
They can count on a couple of shops in Zürich and a number of stores in the main cities all over the world (San Francisco, Tokio, Berlin, Milan ... to mention a few).
In particular, the flagship store is located in the Hardbrücke district, a great post-industrial block in Zürich West. The building consists of a pile of containers that were refurbished and adapted to host the collection on several floors. It is definitely worth a visit even if you are not really interested in purchasing anything.
Staff is young and extremely supportive, keen on advising on the products and the company. Just close to the shop, there is a very nice and cozy bar (Frau Gerolds Garden) where you can have a drink and enjoy the easygoing and fancy atmosphere of the neighborhood.
It goes without saying that products are almost all unique, as they result from specific and unrepeatable cuts of truck tarps; also, it is worth to mention the "reference collection" including some nice business bags (a bit more "classy" than the fundamental collection).
HINT: I would recommend a visit to the factory (located in Oerlikon district, no more than 10 minutes by train from the flagship store). You can book tours through the company website, or simply check the opening hours of the factory store, where you can get a flavor of where and how bags are produced and get some good deals.

The store build from containers is cool, the set up is just fitting with the brand. The recycled bags, wallets and many more are a bit expensice, but therefore you will own an unique piece, not buyable in many places.
The tower is a must do, when you are here. The view over the city is cool.

Heard a lot about this shop, decided to give it a try. The Freitag shop is made up of 8 containers stacked on top on one another which is quite a refreshing idea.
Almost everything sold here is above CH70(70 Swiss Francs). To me, the bags or handbags are made of recycled materials which is a good idea but too expensive.
There is a price to pay for environmental friendly products but I think it shouldn't bethat much.
Tourists can walk the stairs right up to the top where the observation deck is. It is a bit small, maybe enough space for 15 people. Not much view to see, but it's free. Give it a try.

The lady there was not helpful at all. She was not able to give us an advise according to what we were looking for. Once we saw and try a bag she was just behind to put it back in the right position but with any word toward us at all.
With this kind of service maybe more than one person get disappointed and lose the interest to buy.

The guy in this flagship store is extremely arrogant and rude, once I With my friend bought a F261, and we ask the guy kindly that we want to buy also one shopping bag (5 chf) together , this guy be very arrogant to us and say : no , I don’t sell, because it is not eco-friendly . Ok, fine . And after two weeks I went there with another friend , she did not bought anything ,but she really likes the shopping bag , we ask same guy that we want to buy it , this time he be rude to us and say : we don’t sell it unless you bought a product . Excuse me ? This is how you tight slap your face again and again ? If you don’t want to sell the shopping bag with the reason of eco friendly ,then take it out of the wall, if you don’t want to sell it to Asian customer , then I say : shame on you ! I guess we are not the only one get treat like this , shame on you.

Freitag has been around for about 20 years, recycling materials like tons of well-traveled truck tarps, worn-out bicycle inner tubes discarded seatbelts and recycled airbags. Each of their product is unique because it uses a different pattern of the recycled tarpaulin, but they follow some very functional model designs. At first, it was branded as alternative youth fashion, now it has become mainstream. You recognize their brand anywhere in the world, normally associated with a cool lifestyle. Their brand flagship store is a pile of rusted containers put together in a very tasteful manner in a industrial district of Zurich. Around it there are other independent designer stores and nice terraces where you can have a drink and enjoy your new cool Freitag purchases.

The famous Freitag store is a must see in Zurich. It has an incredible truck container tower that upon walking up, you see all of the city. It's beautiful. The store has an amazing selection of their unique bags and accessories. I got a small bag and have gotten stopped in the US by people asking where I got it. I love it.

Took a while to find. Take Tram 4 from Bahnhofstrasse Hbf to Schiffbau. Walk towards train station and make left. Can't miss the tall stack of shipping containers.
I like their bags, but couldn't find a particular one that I want that met my requirements. Wish they made a tote that had a zipper that I can wear over the shoulder. Did get a cool wallet and keychain instead. Also, many customers bring back older bags as part of a recycling program.
The store does have a observation deck on the top of the shipping container tower to give you a view of the city. The store structure and the observation deck make the visit worth it, even if you did not purchase anything.

The Freitag Shop is located near Hardbrucke in Zurich West. The shop consists of old train car containers stacked upon each other about nine high. Upon entering the store, a staff member made it a point to stop what he was working on to recognize me and welcome me to the store.
The store offers biodegradable fiber clothing from pants to t-shirts made within Europe. They also have multiple levels of bags of all sorts from iPhone holders to messenger’s bags. These sturdy (and yes, very expensive) bags come in all shapes, sizes and colors. These recycled truck tarps have been recovered, washed and cut to about every size imaginable. There are many bags on display and one can browse through their entire selection floor by floor.
If you take the stairs all the way up to the ninth stacked container, there is an observation tower with views over Hardbrucke, Zuri West, the train tracks and a few of the hills and mountains around the city.
