All my visitors get dragged out to Kyburg because it's an interesting, genuine lesson in history with gorgeous views of the outlaying countryside. Visitors can reach the castle by foot starting from the Toss River with a gruelling walk up hundreds of stairs, or by bus/car to the village of Kyburg. The impressive collection of artefacts is both fascinating and... More

We hiked to the castle from the city of Winterthur, and the hike is excellent. The path up to castle from the valley below is well maintained and beautiful! Would definitely reccomend anyone to see Schloss Kyburg

I came to this museum to view the collection of Impressionist paintings. They are truly wonderful, there are works from most of the major impressionists here.

Found this to be a worthwhile outing as the castle is situated in beautiful surroundings and it is a very interesting place to visit. Only thing missing is a little tea/coffee spot where those that cannot do the stairs could wait for one instead of having to just stand around. Parking is a bit of a problem when it gets... More

What a wonderful little place. The castle itself is not so big but there is plenty to see inside. I had my 3 year old son with me, and he loved it, although if you have little ones keep an eye on them if they start climbing on the well in the courtyard - it is closed so they can't... More

Afew kms from Winterthur, this beautiful castle lies in the middle of a wonderful forest. Just doing the road was worth the visit. But there is much more. The castle, some 800 years old, has been revamped and show its past splendour. Nice collection of period arms.

Place really worth to visit. If you like castles you will be very, very happy. All rooms are open for visitors. There are audio-visual presentations. Staff is helpful and polite. We could not visit the gardens because of the snow and ice. I can recommend that place. Next time I will visit in summer time. Road leading to the castle... More

A decent old castle perched on top of a tall hill. The walk upto the top of the hill is fairly long at about an hour from the valley below. Makes up for a good one day hike from Winterthur.

It is not only a lovely castle located on the top of a hill dated back from the medieval period. It shows a rich history from the start it was built till present time, displayed in well decorated and fitted out areas, with good descriptions described in four languages. The castle has been renovated to its former glory and one... More
