Much easier to get to if you have a car but using the train can work too. Just a really nice view over the vineyards down to the lake with the mountains as a backdrop. Really one of the nicer scenic views around the world. A better winery tour though would be appreciated.

We took the train to the vineyards arriving in chexbres. We walked down to vevey through the winding paths of the vineyards. The scenery and view to the lake was gorgeous and the fall colours were magnificent. Because we were there in October, we felt we were the only people in the vineyards! We had lunch in vevey and then... More

The area between Lausanne and Vevey are full of vineyards, beautiful vineyards they are, and most are quite famous, quite old(for wine, the older the vine, the better!) some

Yes it is indeed as beautiful as everyone says. They are beautiful hills along the lake Geneva covered with grape crops, studded with small beautiful houses and lanes in and around. It can take 2plus hours if you are adventurous enough to hike through it but if not, then it’s a great place drive. Yes you can drive through the... More

We stayed in Montreux and didn't have a car so we took the train to Lavey, and then changed to a train up to Chexbres. From there it was an easy walk down zig-zagging through the vineyards with a splendid view of Lake Geneva the whole time. We ended up walking all the way to Vevey which might be a... More

We traveled by train from Geneva to Montreux and from there changed to another train to reach this beautiful village in the midst of vineyards. En route the train climbs and you can have a full view of Geneva Lake. One important tip, select left side window seats in the train to get a beautiful view of lake from height.... More

While I did not particularly go to the vineyards while in Montreux, I crossed the entire stretch, during my train journey from Montreux to Bern, and they're really beautifully spread out for quite a distance, along the Lake Geneva, and the symbiosis of both makes it look even prettier. The length to which they're spread is also quite incredible.

These vineyards are beautiful with a backdrop of Lake Geneva and the Alps. Photos don't do them justice. Drive the highway to Chexbres then drive down the hills through the vineyards to Lake Geneva. Stop and take photos.

We walked Lavoux from Chexbres to St. Saporin, to Rivaz, about 1.5 hours in walking time for slow not-that-fit older people - we took longer to stop and stare at the stunning vineyard views, elegant medieval towns, surrounded by mountains and lake. A very worthy UNESCO World Heritage Site! And on a beautiful day, lunch and wine on the lovely... More
