it was alright but i thought we'd be on the train most of the time instead going to the cheese and chocolate factories. We also had to leave the train often. At least we made up for it in chocolate There should have been more chocolate offered on the train, but it was still fun given the option, I would... More

Seated in one of the restored carriages, it was a lovely way to see the scenery and climb the hills from Montreux up to Gruyeres (for the cheese factory and the village of Gruyeres with its chateau) before arriving at the chocolate factory, hence the name of the train. Very scenic, especially when we saw the frost on the upper... More

We had a wonderful day taking the Chocolate Train from Montreux to Gruyeres and Broc. The tour starts with a vintage train serving a chocolate croissant and your choice of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. The train then takes switchbacks up the mountains from Lake Geneva, with gorgeous views of the lake. It then continues through beautiful Alpine scenery to... More

I've been to the famous chocolate factory in England and yes, you do get some free samples. Go on the Chocolate Train in Switzerland. It starts off on a single track and you gradually climb up the mountain, Through the tunnels (these are through the mountains), just like a lovely scenic railway. The views are amazing it comes complete with... More

The 1hour train journey zigzagging through the mountains was awesome, views were stunning. Clear views of lake Geneva and mountains, churches, Swiss chalets, cows and lush green grass for ever! We were fortunate to have a clear day, blue skies and it was sunny and hot. The train is comfortable and was the hi-light of the day. Nestle factory was... More

I cleared one day of my honeymoon itinerary just for this and must say that I wasn't disappointed at all. Must do for all chocolate and cheese lovers.

Travelling from Montreaux, you get your 1st taste of chocolate on the train, chocolate croissant and a drink. The 1st stop is at Gruyere for a visit to a cheese factory then on to Gruyere village, the village is very old, hilly and full of cobbles! After time in Gruyere you take a bus to Broc and the Callier/Nestle chocolate... More

The train ride is nice but we had already done sections of it when we came into Montreux. The cheese factory visit is a waste of time, and the chocolate factory visit isnt great either. Gruyere is great so save some money and just do that on your own.

Thoroughly impressed with the ability of the tour guides' abilities to manage so many participants across multiple train stops and multiple bus transfers and do so while still being pleasant. The stops themselves were interesting (Cheese factory, historic village, and chocolate factory) and the train itself was comfortable and old-timey in a fun way. A great way to go on... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our sunny and warm beautiful day on the Chocolate train, but in some ways we were lucky. The ride is beautiful, stunning views, and the three stops and tour leader were all great. Like some other commenters, we would have preferred more time in the lovely town of Gruyere and less in the Cailler chocolate factory which... More
