This is a must visit when in Lausanne. It connects the glorious Cathedral to the lower area of the city. The steps are quite historic - records about their existence date back to the 13th century. There are several levels of steps to traverse. Along...More

We do not see the historical, architectural or esthetical value of this construction. Ok, it is part of the entire setting of the cathedral and the cité ... and good for selfies ...

You should take this stairs when you go to the Cathedral. There are steep like all the streets in Lausanne but at the top you will get maybe the best panoramic view in town.

In all my travels I have not encountered anything like this some ancient wooden staircase that links to low city and the high city. Very nice to see and very interesting to climb

Lovely way to reach the cathedral, viewing the city and history on the way. If you don't like stairs don't attempt, use the metro instead and just the last short flight of steps to the top!

I guess that’s the plan....build the church up high on a hill, then make it a bit easier for us sinners to get to it! Rain or shine, sleet or snow....a covered stairway helps! Provided shelter for a whole crowd of teenagers while we were...More
