A ways away, but one of the best Mountains I have skied. On a nice day, ski into Italy and eat lunch at the Italian resort called Cervina. Be good at math for exchanging currency between Swiss Francs, Italian Euros, and American Dollars. We stayed at Hotel Alex and had a great time!

Go up the Gornergrat for better view on the Matterhorn. The train isn't cheap but they have happy hours after 12h24 so if you can, go up after that time, have lunch at the restaurant up there and soak in the beautiful view and fresh air. On the way down, stop at Rotenboden for the little lake.

This is a very large ski resort which ensures lots of uncongested runs. Very customer oriented by all personnel we encountered and unlike Leukerbad ski area, you can assess ski conditions on a lot of the mountain with your own eyes. With the romantic charm of the Zermatt, which has no cars on its streets, this place is a "must... More

While our visit here was enjoyable, we did not experience the Matterhorn as she did not come out to play while we were here. We did discover that we could have stayed up higher in the mountains in a village or town instead of down in Zermatt and we may have had an early morning experience of seeing this peak.... More

The mountain will take you breath away- it is quite stunning as you ski at its base. Ski down from glacier paradise for the best views.

The Matterhorn just dominates any visit to Zermatt. You have to take every opportunity to take in the breathtaking view and getting upward allows you to see the sun reflect off the mountain - almost golden in the early dawn.

It's a really beautiful area. The town of Zermatt is quaint and picturesque. It must really be crowded during the skiing season. There are little hotels all over. We only walked the main street, but the atmosphere was inspiring.

Its a brilliant mountain top and the viewing platform opposite presents a wonderful vista. Watching the sun rise and light up the Matterhorn from the tip towards its slopes was an amazing experience!

When skiing in this large ski arena we come to many different places where we saw the Matterhorn from different sides, in different light: amazing! How could we not make tons of pictures...?
