We stayed in Wengen, and it was a relaxing jaunt by train (unless you don' like heights or being at an extrreme angle on a train!). Our daughter was sick, so while my hubby walked the First trail, she and I trained it to this spot, and walked. We had gorgeous views from teh top of the ladder, and walked... More

The mountain train gives you the first amazing views of the surrounding alps, once at the summit various walks take you all around the peak giving an outstanding view point, and when you are ready for coffee the hotel restaurant caters for all your needs!!

I strongly suggest whoever go to wengen to do an excursion at Schynige Platte. The hiking trail offers a breathtaking view and u will be able to see interlaken from there too. The cogwheel train journey from winderwills also offer great view

Sundays the train is an original steam engine driven, we went on an electric although still refurbed 100+ years old. At the top there is an interesting walking route around an Alpine garden, take it slowly as the altitude will affect your oxygen levels, drink plenty of water and enjoy both the ride and the views, journey leaves from Wilderwil,

Visited last week. The train journey offers fantastic views of the surrounding area as you slowly travel to the top. On getting to the end of the line the views are something else. Fresh air, amazing views and a top of the world experience.

This is a super trip to do with excellent views of the mountains. The train creeps slowly along at about 10 mph with 2 coaches and wooden seating. It lakes about 50 minutes. The views are spectacular if the weather is clear. We arrived at the top to a fanfare form 2 Alpine horns. Well worth the trip!

It's of course worthwhile visiting this site on a clear day. The views are stunning when you reach the top. We decided to hike down, and had originally understood from another reviewer that it takes 2.5 hours. Despite the fact that we're in good shape, it definitely took longer (closer to 3.5), and the last 2/3 of the hike are... More

This is where the locals go. It is absolutely beautiful. The 50 minute ride up the cog railroad is a treat and many opportunities for photos. You sit four to a row and it is a bit tight. It fills up quickly so get there early. At the top is is a small restaurant or you can go further up... More
