Lake Lucerne - woozes eternal charm

A lake that oozes charm through the ages. A place not to be missed when in Switzerland. Theatre houses, museum, lake side cafes for pure relaxation. To see and to be seen.

We bought a 2nd class ticket, however as all tables had been booked for lunch on that deck, we were swiftly pointed to take a seat in 1st class on the upper floor. Such great views on all sides. Staff is efficient but not overly friendly. We only went as far as Willis for lunch, but already gave a great... More

I came to this beautiful place on a last minute detour from Zürich. The streets were not too crowded this time of the year, end of November. There is literally so many place to see and travel.to it may be hard to decide where to start from. A simple walk along the lake across the multiple bridges itself is a treat.

Untill you lose your patience. Not the case. do you know one of these days when you just want to find silence? A walk on beautiful LUZERN was not enough to close my mind, so i took a boat to....nowhere. I say nowhere because i ve just booked the first boat trip on Gotthard ship one time and 2 days... More

Enjoyed a cruise to Alpnachstad from Lucerne and back on an autumn day; it was an ideal way to view the small communities where the boat docked and to experience the relaxation of several hours on the lake. The indoor seating area was comfortable with tables and we appreciated being able to have lunch on board.

If you want to explore the cradle of Switzerland, the great tour with a 115 year old pedal steamer is worth it. Even as a Swiss I had to Google a few places and consult Wikipedia on the trip. When was the Axenstrasse built (only around 1880)? What is the monolith honouring ( F Schiller)? What is this little village... More

Overpriced, like everything else in Switzerland. You should only go to Switzerland if your parents are millionaires, you are a millionaire, or you are burning your way through your children's inheritance, otherwise you will translate the prices into your own currency and go into cardiac arrest, which will pretty much defeat the purpose of your trip. We signed up for... More

What a evening/night! We booked the Gala evening for the MS "Unterwalden" two month before the 1st of August (Swiss National Day). Other friends also booked for this tour. The boat was fully booked. We and our friends didn't have a place at the same table. But the catering manager resolved the problem. He arranged one table for all the... More

The company is bosth, essential for transport and for pleasure. The ships are beautiful, the service is pleasant. The views incredible. A boat to take even if you have zero reason to do so.
