We truly enjoyed our day on and around Mount Pilatus. From the cog train ride up, exploring the peak, having lunch and descending in the gondola, we experienced the clouds, greenery and the exhilaration of seeing Lake Lucerne from a new perspective.

We opted to take the cogwheel train (funicular) from Alpnachstad round trip to the top. Outstanding views of the Alps, lake and Lucerne below. There are three different eateries on top: take-away grill, self service cafeteria and hotel dining room (the latter is pricey). You...More

You must visit here while in Lucerne! We were pleasantly surprised to discover that our Swiss Travel Pass covered the cost to go up. On our way up, we enjoyed stopping to try out the toboggan run. Our kids (6& 8) loved it! On our...More

My advise for all mountain trips in Switzerland in June is to always dress in layers. Weather changes very quickly and you dont want to be shivering instead of enjoying the views.
