Ride the train up and take the cable car down for best views. This is a truly spectacular place. You will see cows and hikers on the way to the summit. The view at the top is stunning.

So many activities! I'd say devote a whole day there if you want to get everything done! From driving down mountains, taking gondolas, climbing on ropes, seeing the view and many more you will never be bored here!

Phenomenal view. No pictures can do it justice. We took the boat/cogwheel/cablecar/bus roundtrip The views from the water and the mountain were absolutely fantastic You absolutely have to go here if you are in Lucerne Jim

When in Luzern, taking the cog railway up to Mt. Pilatus is a must do. Fantastic engineering. Terrific views.

When is Luzern a must visit at Mt.Pilatus(free with swiss pass).We stayed at Ameron Hotel from where there was a direct bus,though the walk uphill was tough the veiw made up for the everything.

I imagine it'd be in winter. You'd have to make further enquiries about whether this attraction would be open. I'm sure the Switzerland tourism website would be able to assist. Enjoy your trip!
