Lake Lucerne offers something for everyone. You can take a lake cruse, rent a paddle boat , swim , feed the ducks and swans or walk the statue dotted walking path around its borders. Just s beautiful spot to watch people or just the scenery

It is centre of attraction. One can enjoy boating during early or later hours of the day. It is scenic like any spot in Switzerland.

It is a beautiful lake and must visit when in Luzern. One can sit by the side, walk or better still take a boat ride. The boat trip took us around the lake and we enjoyed the cool breeze and the wonderful view.

We took the 2 hour cruise and despite the overcast weather, we thoroughly enjoyed it! We could not get over the size of it. We also enjoyed our dinners just sitting looking over the lake . We found it very relaxing and calming!

Lake Luzern is one of the most beautiful places I know in the world. Today I did work at the Luzernerfest which is held once a year at the beach boarder around Lucerne center. It was just wonderful, so many people from all around the...More

I think no visit to Switzerland is complete without boating in this pristine lake. The lake is huge and we took almost 1 hour to reach Vitznau. You can eat on the boats but remember it is fairly expensive on the boat. The ride will...More

Perhaps Switzerlands prettiest lake town, which says a lot. Boat excursion on Saphir very good. Longer rides may be even better. Swimming excellent on our 2 hot summer days. Easy access from dock in town or around lake. Totally refreshing.

If you think Luzern is breathtaking as a city, taking to the water just caps it off. From here you are surrounded by snow capped mountains (surreal when it's 30+ degrees on land...and you come from Australia!). I took an hour ferry ride which was...More

We caught one of the many cruise boats from Vitznau to Lucerne and the views of the Alpine scenery from the boat are wonderful. Admittedly the weather was hot and sunny and the distant peaks still snow capped but it was simply marvellous. Catch an...More

A beautiful lake to walk around, sit by, take photos or take a boat cruise over. We had glorious May weather and spent a lot of time near the lake. We loved it.

I will be visiting Lucerne, Switzerland in early May. I would like to take a boat on Lake Lucerne that allows you to get off at villages, then get back on. PetaAfricatraveller was the only one who offered any concrete information on where to catch such a boat (thank you, Peta). I still need to know which specific kind of boat I should catch, prices (would a day pass be best?), and time schedule. Does anyone have this information or know where I can find it? Any help will be very much appreciated.
