This is the Bern mountain. Then 15 minutes with street car from the center of Bern. Great view of the Swiss Alps and around. Fantastic place for children too. Nice Restaurants (1 is self service, good prices.) some times different shows and concerts. There is also a bike trail or you just hike a bit. Easy trail. Gurten is Bern's 'Hausberg' and easy to get to either by cablecar from Wabern or by manpower. You can come here for a walk (about an hour) or cycle up here any time of the year. The park is lovely. Playgrounds for kids, even walking paths for the grandparents, a restaurant, café and even a beautiful luxury hotel in case you want to enjoy the spectacular view over Bern and towards the alps for longer. This is a perfect spot for a picnic, BBQ or beer with friends. …

You can then either take the Gurten Bahn or hike to the top (hiking takes 30-45 min)... from the top, you get a nice view in all directions if the weather allows it... and there are quite a few hiking routes there, and there is a nice restaurant GURTNERS...…
