Very handy to look at the architecture from both sides

You can enjoy the view from Gross Basel to the Rhein Promenade and going from Klein Basel look at the other side, especially the Three Kings Hotel, it looks fantastic.

It appears this trip across the river always comes close to one of the top things to do in Basel and while it is nice enough, I would not consider it a "can't miss." Nevertheless for 1.60 you will enjoy a pleasant journey across the Rhine. Again, it is quick and lovely, but I would not rearrange my agenda just... More

I've been on this ferry twice to cross the river. It's quick, cheap, and you get a different perspective of the city from down below. I highly recommend it if you want to take a quick break from walking. Think about it. How often do you get the chance to ride on a boat across the Rhein? The experience is... More

I think this is one thing we that live in Basel take for granted. The experience only lasts a few minutes but it's a fun and relaxing way to get across the Rhine. I for sure should use it much more! Plus you can get some pretty sweet pictures!

This unique experience only takes a few minutes but costs just under 1,60 CHF for an adult so it's worth it. The boats just glide form bank to bank on the stream of the river Rhine. The absence of engine noice is refreshing and with the excellent views this ride is a must do.

This little ferry is an amazing way to cross the river and then go visit Basel Munster! Relaxing and beautiful way to experience the Rhein. A must do! Bring some change for the 1.60per person per ride fare.

It is but a short ride and completely exhaust free. Very clever system that drags the boat across. See for yourself. And very modest fee.

Cute little boat trip across the river. A great alternative to walking. Only 1.6 Swiss Franc so very cheap. Definitely worth doing. Very steep stairs on the Munster side so it may difficult for elderly.

This is an easily missed part of Basel city despite being visible whenever you're around the river Rhein. It's a cheap and peaceful experience to drift across the river Rhein and nice to give your feet a rest from walking round the city.
