You take a tram going north from the city and then walk for 10 minutes or so alongside the industrial port area to reach this point. There is a modest modern sculpture to mark the point. It is not particularly spectacular when you get there but I thought it was worth a visit to get a feel for being on... More

I do believe Basel haven't jumped on this opportunity as much as they should. Hidden away in an industrial estate (as per the reviews said), this monument, though really lovely to look at...is ever so slightly underwhelming. It's about a 40 minute walk from Marktplatz and really is hidden away amongst some very large factories. Although I do believe there... More

Dreilaendereck is a strange place hidden in the industrial part of Basel. After a 10 min walk from the nearest tram station, you find an obelisk pointing in three directions with German and French borders separated by just a narrow river. There is a restaurant nearby with an observation deck (one floor) from where you can enjoy the view of... More

If you want to be in three different countries in less than 30 seconds, then this is one of the tripoint places to visit. It may be tough to get to without a car but thankfully we had a vehicle. It's a bit difficult to find but we managed. When we arrived early morning, there was no one there. The... More

Here the border of France, German and Switzerland meet. There is a special display that sits at the point where the countries meet. This means you can run from Switzerland, through France & Germany and back in 10 seconds. Where else can you do that with no border guards? Then there are all the boats and the river to see.

This place was not easy to get to. There is not much around in the area, it is very industrial, but my partner and I decided to walk all the way from Basel so when we finally found it, it was very satisfying. Once you do finally make it, you are able to make it to all three countries with... More

It was a little hard to find at first but easky accessable. It was fun to be at that if your in the area to go, you should to say you where there.

The Dreilaendereck is about a 15-minute confusing walk from the closest Tram and bus line. Except for the viewpoint itself, there is not much in this area except for warehouses, rail containers and a dock for boats and ships. So, one would mostly come here only to this island to view the blossom of peace for Germany, France and Switzerland.... More

Strange but interesting. Hard to find without a gps... it is in the port or something and it is a nice monument to see and experience. Quite unique if you think what it actually represents. Glad we went and it is a great place to take unique photos. Recommended and we would go back if again in the area.
