Well kept zoo, easily accessible and for a reasonable price. Good facilities around the site. Well placed for tram travel.

The Basel zoo is a beautiful garden right in the middle of the busy city. It is usually very calm (if not too crowded) and a great area for a walk and escape of the noisy streets. It is best to have a season ticket...More

We have visited lots of Zoos all over the world and can say that this was easily the best of the lot so far. The animal areas are very well spaced out and there are no enclosures really like any good Zoo. The enclosures were...More

Great zoo! Visited with husband plus 2 adult daughters. Had a blast! Lovely afternoon! Easily accessible, several new exhibits. Would have been nice to see English signage, but totally manageable and delightful.

It's a really lovely zoo - great day out with the family. And if you are there in winter and it's cold enough - you can watch the penguins go for a walk outside!

Quite large inside, at time of my visit elephant enclosure was being updated. Surprisingly bigger and more diverse than I was expecting though food and drink is limited.

They normally do walk the penguins on a daily basis, in the morning, but this depends on the weather. Please do check the website for the exact times - or give them a call in advance, just to be sure that you don't create... More
