Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From both sides of the bridge you have a very beautiful view of what surrounds the Rhine River.
For the buildings, the river and the vegetation.
There are people swimming in the river, there are cafes and restaurants, as well as hiking track.
I saw stairs where some people stay around enjoying the river.

The Mittlere Brucke is a wonderful historic bridge in Basel connecting the Old Town with the New Town. I took a quiet walk on the last morning of a Viking River Cruise this past April through Old Town. I had a great view of the bridge from the courtyard at the back of Basel Minster.

Connecting the old town and new town this brige is a must-do. The bridge itself isn't that special, but the views from here are. Checking out the Rhein River and its shores is quite the nice thing to do. Besides that it's the great view of the old town you have from here.

The skyline of Old Town Basel is quite a sight to behold, especially with the Münster sitting on top of the Hill. For that only it's worth the short walk to this bridge. The New Town on the other side offers lots of shops and restaurants, but the important sights are on the old town side.

As the name says this is the central bridge of Basel wich connects the old parts of Gross- and Kleinbasel (grater and smaller part of the old town center). At the side of the middle of the bridge watches a nice small chapel over the people passing by. From the bridge you have a splendid view on the medieval houses and especially on the cathedral on both banks of the Rhein river.

One of 5 bridges over the river Rhine in Basel, but this one is the oldest and connects downtown Grossbasel and downtown Kleinbasel. Yes, Basel has two downtowns! Walking or running in Basel undoubtedly brings you over this 1905 re-built bridge. The original bridge goes back to 1226 and is on the oldest crossings of the Rhone between Lake of Constance and the North Sea. In the middle of the bridge is a copy of the old bridge chapel, it is called Kaeppelijoch. In the Middle Ages, convicted criminals were here sentenced to death, obviously with the intention to let the dead bodies float down the river. A collection of love locks locked to the fence, decorates or spoils the chapel, depending on your viewpoint of things. As far back as 1597, the bridge is also the place where every January three carnival figures (Vogel Gryff, Wild Maa and Leu) dance at noon over the bridge with a constant view to Kleinbasel and hence ignoring Grossbasel. It is a spectacle worth a visit, where you find local officials and Basel citizens, and a few tourists surprised by the event.

Stretching across the Rhine is the Mittler bridge, a wonder in stone that still stands, allowing for boats to pass between its broad sections. Do cross the bridge at least once to admire the structure from both ends!

Great bridge with wonderful views of Rhine on both sides. Great to take a walk, pass by a bike or an electric scooter. Bus rides also available.

This wide bridge stretching over the Rhein supports trams, busses, cars, bicycles, and too many pedestrians to mention.
There are great views of the Rheinufer, boats floating down the river and more. I traveled over this bridge every day during my Basel stay.

You will go over this probably a thoudsand times in Basel. The public transport and the main street are connected to this bridge making it a good point to meet up. You can also take awesome pictures of the river and the city looking up.
