If castles play into your inner core of history than a trip or several will not disappoint . No matter where your gaze gravitates to, there are sites of fortified villages, castles and no shortage of towers. Simply Disney magic. Great battles between Hannible and...More

Enjoyed our visit here a lot. First stop was the bird sanctuary where we did a little bird watching and then saw a demonstration of how they do the banding. Then took the ferry to Polvese Island and walked around for a couple of hours....More

We did a car tour around the lake visiting different small towns. It was lovely. For history buffs, you can follow the path of Hannibal's victory here as well as appreciate the lake itself

Try the ferry services to any of the three islands for a fun afternoon. We went to Isola Polvese and explored olive groves, an ancient castle and church and enjoyed the quiet of nature.

Very nice lake. Local authorities are taking care about the lake and nearby areas nowadays and it is very much enjoyable now. Lots of restaurants around but you have to be careful if you're looking for a non touristic place to eat. Lots of vineyards...More

If you are staying near the lake, it is well worth taking the ferry around Lake Trasimeno, stunning scenery, welcoming people, lovely bars and restaurants.

Are you looking for some still authentic landscape but with modern commodities? I never grow tired of this lake.

Took a ride around the lake, very pretty. The boat was quite good and stopped at several places where you could get of if you wished. Very peaceful, a nice thing to do.

Beautiful surrandings, pleasent people, delicious food, not to mention wine testing. we stayed in the beautiful house near the Lake Trasimeno called . Owner's wife and mother prepared us fresh cakes every morning. The house has everything you need for a perfect stay in Tuscany.

We are spending a week on Lake Trasinemo (as a change from Garda, Maggiorre and Como) in July 2016. We would like to know if it is possible to visit Assisi/Perrugia from there on public transport. We like to travel independently rather than rely on tour operators. So any short rail or bus journeys are not a problem. Are the services regular and frequent? How can I access any timetables? Are there other places worth a visit from there? I am not into driving in Italy so car hire is not an option. Thank you for any help you can give. I am not sure where to post this for information we need.
