If you arrive by train and are staying in the old part of Perugia, don't hesitate to take the minimetro, little unmanned train cars which are cheap, clean and convenient, and they run continuously through the day and evening. The train station is not within walking distance of the old part of town, and the minimetro is a great alternative... More

Excellent automated service every city should have one! During our stay there was a huge market and funfair at the end of the line.

We parked our car at the train station and used this mini metro system to go to the centre of Perugia. The whole system is fully automatic operated without human intervention. The time you have to wait for the next car is 1 minute and a one-way ticket is 1.50€

It really feels like taking a flying taxi yet at a very low price! Cool way to go downtown in Perugia.

I like the idea of the minimetro that it brings you from the stadium, or the train station directly to the centre of Perugia. It is reliable, will not stuck in the traffic and there is enough space if it is not Umbria Jazz or Eurochocolate. But a few things I don't like: It is open just until 21 or... More

We used the minimetro to get from the train station into the upper square of the city to our rented apartment. It is easy to use and much cheaper than a taxi. There are automated ticket machines, which are easy to use. Cost is 1.5 Euro per person.

Don’t miss a trip on the wonderfully efficient Mini Metro. This is a great little system that doesn’t seem to have any people running it. You buy tickets from a machine, enter the station and wait at the most 2 minutes for a tiny train carriage to arrive. You step aboard and are whisked along the track to eventually reach... More

We took the Minimetro from easy (free) parking at the soccer stadium right to the hilltop center of Perugia. Easy and inexpensive. Made our visit more enjoyable!

OK, these cars run on a track, maybe not the driverless cars you were thinking about. But they are an excellent way to connect from the train station to the center of the old town in Perugia, which sits high up the hill. The Minimetro station sits just beyond platform 1 of the train station. Buy tickets for €1.50 at... More

The cars appear every minute so you never ever wait. Takes you directly to the main train station, Fontevegge.
