Located in the amazing P Grande, this building is worth a serious 1-2 hours, both inside and outside. Start inside, and go through every room, to take a quick look at the collection on display, while focusing on the building features - the size of...More

We visited the Palazzo dei Consoli to see the Gubbio in the time of Giotto exhibition. The exhibition was very interesting and we also enjoyed the permanent collection. There is also a wonderful view of the city and surrounding countryside from the upper floor.

I am teaching in a study abroad program in Florence and brought a group of my students to Gubbio. Our first stop was here and we were all completely disappointed. The problem was the tour and the tour guide. Both were awful. Since we had...More

Gubbio is a beautiful small hill-town without the crowds of tour groups that are filling many other of the Northern Italian destinations. The Museum has limited opening hours like many in Italy so check and prepare ahead. The Etruscan tablets are the big draw but...More

We visited the town and discovered this magnificent place with a splendid view. The building is very nice, The museum inside is moderately interesting, except for the display of Umbrian tablets which was VERY learning.

The Palazzo dei Consoli dominates the skyline. The fan-shaped staircase leads up to a big hall with barrel vaults that, in the communal age, housed the citizens' meeting. Now they show a chillingly complete and varied collection of torture instruments. On the same level but...More

We have visited the Museo Civico several times and we are never disappointed. On the main floor they change the display and it's always interesting. Now there's an exhibition featuring torture devices and methods. Quite macabre but also informative. Actually, the 7 bronze tables written...More

It is a dominating historical building. This time we could see several exhibitions: historical view of torture tools, Pinacoteca, Garibaldi's uprising in Gubbio - but the most importantwere for us to study the bronze boards with ancien Umber scripts!
