We came across this church by accident and were charmed to discover the exhibition inside. The assistant explained the significance of the madonna sculpture, which was such a clever and inspired idea for a work of art. We were really impressed.

We stumbled across this permanent exhibition while wandering the streets of Assisi during a pilgrimage tour of Italy. The contrast to the medieval setting is remarkable, however, the continuity with its past is very fitting. If you are a woman, a mother, a Catholic, appreciate beautiful modern art or just want to slip away from the hustle and bustle of... More

A small church interior has been converted into a showcase for an artwork based around multiple renditions of a gorgeous, abstract, sculpture of the Virgin Mary, designed to be held in the hand. We happened across this by accident, and were delighted we did.

When you walk in the door you are greeted with a marvelous art installation. There are layers of meaning in the unusual piece that are explained by a docent as you hold one of the carved pieces in your hand. You need not be religious to appreciate what the artist accomplished. When you have finished with the first art piece,... More

Fell into this church tucked away on a back street of Assisi. After the crowded, tourist-filled famous cathedral, this was an oasis for the mind and spirit. Beautifully explained by a devotee of the artist and his work, this installation will warm your heart and soul.

Our B&B was literally 20 steps from here so of COURSE we had a look. Whether you are Catholic or not even religious, this is amazingly beautiful and FREE and WELL WORTH a visit. Once you have seen the beautiful, larger than life Tau in this little church, the millions on offer in souvenir shops just don't seem to cut... More

A magical experience which I cannot describe in words. I meditated in Santa Maria dello Rose and I also met the artist, Guido Dettoni. I am so grateful for him moulding Maria in his hands. He has given women in the world a huge appreciation and a voice. The place is perfect for his exhibition. Thanks to the lovely ladies... More

What a fabulous work of art - and so interesting and moving. Well worth a visit. All the reviews say people stumbled across it and were blown away by it and that's how we came across it.

I "happened" upon this sacred display of Madonnas while wandering the passageways of Assisi. At first, I thought it was one of the many hidden "Exposition Chapels," but I was astounded to discover an unusual and spiritual art exhibit by renowned artist.Guido dettoni della Grazia. there is another meditation "surprise" behind the Madonna display wall - NO ONE should miss...
