Great view of Assisi

this little church has a quiet and contemplative atmosphere. Not over run by the crowds. The piazza in front has a great view of the larger Assisi.

Our hotel looked down on this church. Our group had Mass here one morning and it was beautiful. Everything is so old and well maintained.

This Romanesque church was built BEFORE Francesco was born and naturally has been pushed out of the limelight because of the overpowering presence of later events, but nonetheless holds its own if one will only stop and pause for a moment. The whole piazza in front of the church is inviting. The underground is beautifully restored and merits visiting, especially on a... More

This church is a bit out of the way. We really enjoyed this church as it is rather simple but typical of a neighborhood Italian style church. We had the opportunity to watch wedding planners set up for a wedding scheduled for later in the day. Again, elegance in simplicity.

There are 9 churches I think in the walled city of Assisi. Each one is special and deserves a visit. Loved St. Peter's.

The simple church of St. Peter is from before Francis. Clare began her religious life on the grounds as there were no sisters attached to Francis at the time. Stop in and See.

We had just finished five hours in the Basilica of St Francis, checked all the museum areas, all the nooks and crannies and wondered if St Peter's might be to much for the day. It was not only right, it was perfect. This is where St Francis would feel at home going to pray. Truly a simple and majestic piece... More

We were in Assisi for a short period of time but were very glad that we made the effort to go to Saint Peter's Church. Only a few European Church's stick in my mind but this is certainly one of the best. The views are also well worth the trip.

During my stay in Assisi I was happy to be able to look out my window every morning and night and see this wonderful church which is connected to a Benedictine Monastery. The church is 10th century rebuilt in the 13th. Because contemplation is an important part of the Benedictine day Benedict believed that statutes, paintings etc. should not be... More
