Come with comfortable clothes and get inside this amazing place where San Francis used to come to meditate. The green area is located in an accidental geography and crosses the city walls. About one hour walking (the way and return). Caution with the snakes, that...More

The trail from the Basilica down to Santa Croce in the valley behind Assisi is very beautiful and well maintained. A very nice sculpture garden at the beginning. From Santa Croce be sure to take the trail back to the Third Paradise, which are fields...More

The service and offerings are excellent. Good for a late supper too. Great sandwiches, pastries and relaxation. Mostly Italians there. Looks directly back at the Cathedral.

The countryside surrounding Assisi is stunningly beautiful and this well laid out trail gives one the opportunity to enjoy it. However, be warned that it is almost all downhill on the outward journey with a long climb on the return leg. Therefore, allow plenty of...More

Friends who have been to Assisi a number of times were not aware of the Bosco (Woodland) experience. The 1.5 Kms walk to the Benedictine convent is well worth it. Beware it's steep, a little rough in places and feels more like 3 Kms each...More

It was the last day of the pilgrimage and we discovered the gate in the wall and went through, rather like Alice entering the Wonderland. A new world opened up to us as we enjoyed the walk through the wooded valley to the little chapel...More

the main walk leading to the Cathedral lasts 40 min one way, mainly in the shadow. The walk towards the "terzo paradiso" masterpiece lasts 20 min.
