Beautiful church with amazing architecture. Was quite surprised that there was no entry fee. Very beautiful and definitely worth checking out if you happen to be in Assisi for the day

Limited hours for entry. The piazza in front of the church offers great views of the valley. The church has many relics and important Christian artifacts.

Here hangs the cross where Christ spoke to St Francis and asked him to repair his Church. Easy to get in and out. They will let you know to stay quiet to not disturb others.

We visited this basilica on a guided walking tour around Assisi. It has interesting architecture outside and a great view here over the countryside. It is the burial place of St Clare. There are some relics and robes on display inside.

The Basilica is, fittingly not ornate, but still gorgeous inside and out and is a fitting tribute to St. Clare. It’s only a one short downhill walk from the main square (Piazza del Comune). The views of the city and valley below from the square...More

Saint Clare is truly venerated in this place. Her tomb is there as well as many relics. The interior of the church is rather austere but her presence is everywhere.

This is a beautiful but surprisingly simple church . St Clare was a friend of St Francis. We attended 5.30pm mass which was in Italian, of course. However that didn’t matter as it was a beautiful experience. We had visited the crypt earlier in the...More

The basilica is in the centre of the old town of Assisi and is definitely on the must visit list for this fascinating medieval city. It is an attractive building both inside and externally and wasn't too busy mid week. Points of interest were well...More

The church opens at 6:30. The Bonnie's mass are 6:45-7:15 and then the pastor shows up. Sit in the left side of the church so you can see more of the nonnes behind the gitter.
