This is an over looked area of Siena. The walls are amazing a work of art in themselves. This is a nice area for a break in the busy parts of Siena. Bring a lunch, enjoy the space and the views.

Good place to stroll. 16th century fort and views of Tuscan hills in the distamce. There is a brilliant market on Wednesday. The food sold was most tasty.

Siena lies on top of three hills and hence it’s tough to run. Fortezza Medicea might be the best place for some exercise. It has great view overlooking the old town, quiet place which is not crowded, and most importantly 1.2km track. Don’t miss this...More

The fortress walls provide a good view of the city and a great picnic spot. There's a bar/restaurant just inside the gate which is nice, put the walls are where all the activity is. LOts of joggers and walkers in the evening.

This is an open fortress overlooking Siena and gives wonderful views across to the city and out to the countryside. It if free to enter and just stroll along the walls and through the large drill square for a peaceful walk.

We made our way here expecting perhaps more than is on offer. Yes the views are very good and it is peaceful away from the crowds, but that is because there is not actually much to do and the place has not been well maintained....More

It seemed that the fortress had been overlooked by the tourist hoards. We enjoyed the peace and quiet while walking around and admiring the 360 views over the city.

A very beautiful location just few minutes away from the main cities. Could be indicated for an appetizer or quick promenade. Recommended
