We did the tower first. Well worth doing if you can cope with the 500 steps. The views are wonderful. But ten we did the palazzo. I was bowled over, the paintings and frescoes were utterly magnificent. If you are in Siena ad have time...More

We visited the Museo for a couple of hours. There are a few nice frescoes but, that apart, it does not have much to recommend it. The entrance charge of 9 euros is completely over the top. We visited Florence earlier in the week. The...More

When you are done people-watching and getting your on-ground pano shots, go up and get a birds-eye view of the city at the museums in the area. The cathedral is worth the ticket price, too.

Not much of interest in the museum, even though the rooms themselves are fairly ornate, and an internal chapel unusual.

Loved the frescoes of good and bad government, the statue of the twins being suckled by a wolf and many other art treasures. Recommended.

Loved the whole idea of civic government and the frescos dedicated to good (and bad) government. Worthwhile in understanding the republic of Siena.
