After many visits to amazing buildings full of masterpieces, it was almost exhaustive to end the day here. The presentation is more lmodern and low-key and you give more time to study the gold mine of antique art.

The paintings in the crypt are damaged but are still very interesting to view. If you buy a opa pass then this is included and well worth a visit.

I'ts a really special feeling to walk around such an old crypt with all the almost ancient and beautiful painting on the wall - highly recommended, even without the guided tour!

Open daily 10:30 - 19:00 Entrance near the top of the stairs between the Baptistery and Duomo Museum. The site of a 12th Century Romanesque church, it was filled with dirt to provide a foundation for the church that sits above it. Recently excavated (with modern metal supports added in the 1990's) - they rediscovered rooms of frescoes that are... More

Interesting exhibition of relics and artifacts. You will see the glass encased remains of a Pope. The rooftop view is not to be missed.

Buy the combined tickets they are worth it and you can split your touring into 3 days. It is amazing to see these hidden treasures. Very well preserved and good lighting. We visited in April and it was not crowded.

If you get the combined attractions Siena ticket and the cript is on it is worth a visit. There are very old frescos that have recently been discovered. I found it slightly ironic that they were showing a video of the tragic recent earthquake in a nearby town and how some the art work was recovered while you are standing... More

The frescos are incredible that they were hidden for so many years, and it's awesome to behold. The story of Christ is an incredible one, esp. when depicted by such devout artists from the medievil times. Quite awesome really. However it's a really small space, so unless it's part of the "OPA" ticket package, it's a little expensive to buy... More

These frescoes are shown in there original state. They are beautiful but aged. It is good that they have signs to explain what are or you might miss what you are looking at. Take a few minutes after visiting the Duomo to visit these frescoes.

The Duomo was okay and the streets are interesting to walk around for a while but I woudln't make it you sole intention to go out of the way to ensure a visit. we paid about 40€ to come from florence and it wasn't worth it
