Great to walk around or sit and have an evening drink or meal and soak up the atmosphere and admire the ancient buildings.

I really like Il Campo, but the tourist trap restaurants keep me from giving it a five star review. The piazza itself is really fun and interesting, you won't see anything like it anywhere else. There are people who hang out like at the Spanish Steps, and the buildings on the Campo are really great. Visit without hesitation, but don't... More

I really enjoyed the time there...great piazza. Seat there and just relax. Grab a gelato and enjoy it. You don't have to be worried by anything. You would have the chance to watch beautiful dogs and people around the area... Restaurants, coffee shops and boutique surrounding it.

This very day they put up the flags of all "Contradas" on the Palazzo Publico and the members of those guilds where in uniform (men in thigths). Drums and music and the piazza was full with people

Take a coffee at one of the many cafés surrounding this lovely place and soak up the atmosphere. Must get very busy in the high season, so get there early.

Walk through this Gothic city - enjoy the small streets (and an ice cream). have a drink at the "Campo". This square has a harmony of buildings never seen before. Visited the elegant Palazzo pubblico: i wasn't impressed by the paintings ((in very poor condition). you must know the background (mostly religious) to appreciate. Visited cathedral Precint (Duomo): great! especially... More

The Piazza itself is amazing but getting there is not for everybody! First finding parking is a chore but remembering where you parked is the bigger problem. I was surprised to see the amount of stores but they were nicer ones at least not all tacky souvenirs which are mostly made in China, hardly authentic. If you are out of... More

Stop and buy a coffee and just watch the crowds circling the race track; wasn't there for the race but can just imagine how much fun it was; the track is incredibily small so the event must really be something to see.

By dusk, most if not all the large tour groups and day trippers from Florence have abandoned Siena for other parts of Italia. This is the moment when Siena shines, and the day gives way to cooler temperatures and relaxed local couples and families gathering in the Piazza. We spent 10 days in Siena and loved each of them but... More
