I was pleasantly surprised bu the number of young people walking the via francigena. It was peaceful and serene and everyone respects the quiet that that surrounding nature inspires. Absolutely beautiful to walk among the vineyards, olive trees, thick wooded areas and paths.

On the road to San Gimignano, depending from where you are coming from obviously, this is worth a stop. It is a monastery sitting on a hill and is very peaceful and quiet, well until the American tourists arrived. You can visit the chruch and shop where they sell local produce but a lot of it is off limits to tourists. You have a nice view of San Gimignano in the distance. There are also very good views of the town as you descend the hill. So park the car at the side of the road and take some good photos.

A real gem of a place. Quiet, off the beaten track with stunning views and a delightful church. There is a community that lives/works here

Quiet spot to spend half an hour or so. Tremendous views of San Gimignano & surrounding countryside. There is also a small 'monastery' shop selling pottery & various farm produce.
