Walking around this central square, one can find the Palace of the Scuola Normale of Pisa, the Church of S. Stefano and the Palace of the Orologio, where Count Ugolino della Gherardesca was imprisoned and condemned to die, as narrated by Dante in the Divine Comedy.

On the walking tour ,which was well worth it because we were taken around Pisa itself and saw things that normally you would not see.Was taken into this square and was told this was part of Pisa University which is the best in all Italy.

Strolling to river from the tower we came across this nice square with a very large imposing building making up one side of it

This square is over rated. Europe has a lot to see. It's okay if you have less time and you miss it.

if you walk from the Piazza dei Miracoli, inside the town, towards the older parts of Pisa, you will pass this amazing piazza, it is not the usual form or shape, but it has amazing buildings worth the walk, and then you will find eateries...More

Good architecture but a bit of a let down, not registering on the Richter scale. Underwhelmed and unimpressed

This piazza doesn't have a lot going on as far as socializing, eating or shopping, but it is interesting historically. It was once the political center of Pisa and home to the Knights of the 1500's. It does have some really cool buildings.

Quiet square in the midst of Pisa. The impressive building named Palazzo della Carovana was during the 16th century the headquarters of the guards (or knights) of pope Stephen. The statue in front of the building is of the Grand Duke of Toscane named Cosimo_I_de...More

But compared with the buildings it's intrusion was insignificant, with all the space clear the Piazza must be spectacular.

Really lovely square. Virtually no one there, so I'm sure that it is frequently overlooked. Would suggest including on a walk around the old town.
