Visited the church. It has been newly renovated and looks beautiful. Unfortunately, it is no longer in service, but is home to the nightly Puccini concert. The concert was a highlight of our trip. They also have uncovered a number of archaeological ruins that date...More

The church is not in service any more and it serves today as a museum and a concert venue. The whole complex was originally built in Roman times, during the 5th century. There were a lot of interventions and refurbishments over its history, which is...More

A really interesting and well displayed building with the bonus aof a good view from the tower. The description of "disused church" suggests dusty and dull but the interior is well lit, well displayed and full of interest from art works to archaeology

The church is today not any more in service. Underground you can see the previous churches, most probably 5 layers. It is a very good example how to preserve former values.

A visit to this old church is good for the archaeology and the history of Lucca. We were lucky enough to do a 2-in-1 seeing the church and attending a Puccini recital. The performance acoustics are wonderful as are the very early Roam architectural structures.

We had not planned a visit here but as our admission ticket to Cathedral included admission here we had a quick look . Great for archaeology lovers

We rented an apartment juxtaposed to this church, deconsecrated for years, this year. The square is quiet and its nightly concert of Puccini does not mar that. This is my favorite area of Lucca but the church now charges for interior visits. It is not...More

Loved the accessibility of the excavations and the chance to see the complexity of the site. Also possible to climb the tower for great views

We stayed in San Luca Palace and we didn't need to look for a parking place as they've free one. Have a nice trip.
