The museum is interesting but quite small and definitely not worth the €10 entrance fee. €4 or €5 would be a fairer price. I found some articles didn't quite match the accompanying text or perhaps photos that were mentioned weren't there. The most interesting piece...More

This is an interesting but small museum with exhibit details in many languages including English HOWEVER many of the placards were extremely difficult to read as the lightbulbs for them were non-existent or burnt out. I luckily had my cell phone camera flash to use...More

It's interesting place, hard to believe the intrustments on show were used as part of history however we felt it was not worth the 10e adult entrance fee. It's a small place. Maybe go if you want to kill time in Lucca.

This isn't good for children but it was an eye opener and very interesting. We found similar museums in Florene, Pisa and Sien?

Whilst the museum was fascinating in a very macabre horrifying way that leaves you wondering how anyone could come up with these things, I do think it was very over priced for what it is. It’s quite small.

I went in with my friend as we were very intrigued by what was inside the museum. The place was very dimly lit and it was difficult to read some of the descriptions of the items, some item descriptions needed better lighting. Overall we found...More

Don’t know if I’d use the word ‘enjoy’ to describe this but I did find it extremely fascinating and mind blowing. Humans can be so cruel. It’s expensive to go in €10 and we were in and out in 30 minutes and I read everything.

A chilling insight into the history of tortures. The sight of the children's "punishments" was really creepy. I would have liked a bit more history of some of the actual items, but there is good descriptions of how they were used and for what type...More
