Lucca is a great city in Tuscany with a very interesting history including the construction of the city wall and the fact that it wasn't invaded. The wall is very wide with lots of room to walk, bike ride, etc. Only spent part of a...More

Lovely piazza, personally I think it’s a bit exaggerated in its ‘roman-ness’ but it is still a lovely place to soak up some toscan atmosphere, which sadly means quite touristy in summer ... had a good lunch, albeit pricey compared to other places, then strolled...More

It is a historical place, nice forms. Visit the place, make nice photos, but not eat there. Overprices compared to the other places and restaurants in the city. Try the local restaurant! It worth to do!

Way too many stores and restaurants, most quite overpriced compared to what you can get just a few minutes away from it. Worth it if you want some quick shopping and don't want to stroll around looking for food, else, a disappointment.

great for lunch, for dinner or just browsing the shops, the amphitheatre is a walk in history and the story of how it was formed and the nearby church well worth investigating

Beautiful piazza in the heart of Lucca. Try the restaurant Grotta for some fab local dishes all made with local ingredients. Beautiful way to spend an evening soaking up the atmosphere of Lucca.

Former Roman amphitheatre became housing area! Lots of good bars and restaurants. Best to explore Lucca by bike as its flat and easy to pedal.

We decided to have dinner at one of the many restaurants that circle the Piazza. Pleasant environment for a meal.

Wow over-hyped or what? It may be the site of a ancient Roman Amphitheatre, but apart from the shape of the 'square' bieng 'oval' there is not a trace left to give this fact away. The architecture is nondescript compared to the medieval buildings all...More
