If somebody ever been to Tuscany knows story with towers and why they are there. If not, worth to go to Guinigi Tower and ask staff about it. I am not going to spoil it with explanation. Climbing steps may be difficult but view probably take much more breath away than getting there. Panoramic view across whole city plus mountains... More

On the day I climbed its 230 steps (not entirely exhausting), a young man was preparing to propose to his sweetheart, and arranged for red roses to be delivered. It's that kind of place. Of course there are many such stories, going back to the Guinigi family's desire to build the tallest tower in town. When denied the right to... More

The views from this old tower over the old town of Lucca are marvellous! The tower itself looks interesting too, particularly the trees on top. If you come anywhere near Lucca, I'd recommend going here.

Walk the steps of this old tower with trees on top and see all of the Lucca and surrounding areas. Fantastic on a sunny day.

This is the tower to go up, not the other one. The trees at the top are nuts - why would you plant trees on a tower? - but brilliantly quirky. The view is amazing and you should take time to circle the top. The climb is a little scary if you don't like heights, which I don't, but it's... More

All you need is a few euros, and the effort to climb to the top. What a view...a unique way to look and photograph Lucca. It is December so freezing at the top..I would imagine it would be beautiful in the Spring.

Lots of stairs, but worth the climb. First few levels aren't too bad, but you work for it at the end. Small area up top with shade from large trees🌲🌲. Much easier on the downhill...

This is an activity for a beautiful day with clear skies. There are over 200 steps to the top, but they are easily navigated, and the climb is well worth the effort. At the top, you stand under the shade of old ilex trees, and enjoy spectacular views over the entire walled city of Lucca and above to the ring... More

Not difficult to climb. Great views. Worth stopping to peer out as you climb. We are four seventy year olds but we managed it without difficulty.
