Exquisite in every detail, this masterpiece by Benvenuto Cellini has a wonderful story to go with it, about how it was created. Read up before you see it! It is stunningly beautiful, perfect in its balance and proportions, regardless of the angle it is viewed...More

..in a very historic setting. A very evocative statue though I suspect like me, Perseus would not be the first name to associate with this legend.

As with all of the statues in the Loggia, take time to really get a good look at this one. Given that it is free and there are places to sit, it is an excellent opportunity to practice "dolce far niente" while taking a good...More

This statue is a stunner. It also has the advantage of being free. You would be daft to visit Florence without dropping by to spend a few minutes having a look.

While the piazza has many many very interesting pieces, it's this statue that stands out in my mind. The piece is disturbing and interesting, it's hard not to keep going back to it.

The Perseus Statue is located in the Piazza della Signoria and at peak times becomes very busy. There should be a limit on the amount of people who can view the statue, but I never saw this rule enforced.

Visually stunning and stands out amongst the other works of art. Not sure how the green colour is achieved but it helps to MN skeleton this particular work of art to stand out.

This statue was one of the many statues and sculptures which we saw on our most recent visit to the Piazza della Signoria, Florence. Many of the other statues and sculptures located in the plaza are much larger than this one. However, the Perseus Statue...More
