Big horse statue in the middle of the square. Nice. The square is magnificent. Be sure to look for the spot marked in the pavement where Savonarola was burned to death.

'Nuff said! It's not only the statue itself but the where it is! Nonetheless, the statue just belongs in the setting - not all large statues in public squares are so appropriate.

If this bronze equestrian statue erected in 1594 was located in pride of place in the middle of the main square in another regional town then it would be lauded as a fine work of art and a must visit. But when you are offset...More
