One of the symbols of this city. the river cross Florence as well as Pisa and it is a good choice to walk along the "Lungoarno" and adore not only Ponte Vecchio but also the buildings that face this magnificent river in which you can...More

On our second night in Florence, we took a one hour guided boat tour up and down the Arno river. It was accompanied by a tour guide and a glass of Prosecco. It was a nice, relaxing way to end the day. The boat tour...More

The Arno River is supposedly the most important river of central Italy after the Tiber, bisecting Florence. The river flooded Florence in earlier days but most recently in 1966 after heavy rainfall. The flow rate of the Arno is irregular. It can easily go from...More

We stayed close to the river when in Florence, and it really is a beauty to look at. Unfortunately no stunning sunsets when we were there in November, but what I liked is how still it is. Lots of photo opportunities both during the day...More

This is a body of water running through the centre of Florence. Great for taking photographs and getting your bearings, but not a place for you to sit next to as there are no bars/cafes/restaurants which would enable you to see it. Busy roads run...More

We walked along the river which was pleasant. It was much quieter on the opposite side to the main body of the city and some really good views looking back.

Its not so much the river Arno which flows slowly through Florence as the impressive buildings either side that make it so important

This is a beautiful river that cuts Florence in two. Lovely bridges & lots of water based activities on Saturday.

Not sure where you are amongst the maze of streets. Just ask a native, "Which way to the Arno River?" Great photo opportunities, especially at sunset. Numerous bridges cross the river, the most famous of which is Ponte Vecchio.

The park area to the west of the city would provide you with walks along the river. Other pavements running through the city are very narrow and difficult to walk along especially with roads right next to you.
