This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

It was quite a hike up the hill, but worth every step. The perfection of that evening’s sunset capped an incredible day of touring. A lovely chance to relax and catch our breaths, and take in the beauty of Florence and the Arno.

Attractive plaza with copy of David is attractive in itself but the panoramic views of the city are truly spectacular. Put plenty of film in your camera! A hint - if you want a toilet, there is one just outside the plaza BUT it costs...More

It can be a little crowded but is worth the effort to absorb the local flavor. We were not able to go inside the church but enjoyed the beauty of the square.

Arrived here around 4.30pm and the crowds were already building in readiness for sunset. Caught the bus up to the Piazzale but walked down after getting some great photos. A lovely place to chill if you have the time.

It is an exhausting walk up the million steps! But it is well worth it! You can see the whole city and it’s really interesting to view the city from that point of view.

We trekked up the steep hill to the piazzale and were rewarded with the best views over Florence. It is a little touristty with coaches and the ubiquitous itinerent sellers but despite this we loved gazing over our favourite city.

The view of Florence was spectacular. We went at dusk and watched the sunset you were able to see the Duomo,Pontevecchio,Uffuzi, Arno. Might be worth the bus ride as it is a long walk from the city center.
