This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

This is where you go for an unparalleled view over the city scape of Florence. A very young crowd gathered by the steps on the evening we went up, and the sunset was completely worth it.

A must see in Florence. If you do nothing else then at least take in this panoramic view of the city. Seems to be plenty of ways to get there. You can walk. Catch public transport. Or hop on the tourist bus.
