About
Over the years the Collection has grown so much, now reaching more than 243 models, that is has overtaken various collections in museums all around the world. Each of the machines in the Collection has been built using materials of the time being wood, metal, ropes and fabrics and interestingly, in the course of construction, many astounding mechanical findings have been revealed. Our research team has expanded over the years and now includes a really talented study group of scholars consisting of Historians, Engineers, Architects, Educators, Artisans and Craftsmen, whose expertise and knowledge has contributed enormously to improve the outcome of our scientific and historical research. The Collection has also been enriched with ‘Vitruvian Machines’, at least those we know of thanks to the writings of that great Roman Engineer of the first century BC., by other important ‘Greek-Roman Machines’ and some from the era of ‘Ancient Egypt’. Our research team also undertakes projects on behalf of third parties and is very proud of the rediscovery of the lost mechanism of Leonardo’s Robot and a new hypothesis for the motion of the Mechanical Lion. Of key importance to us is that the findings and rewards of our research and work is accessible for everyone to witness and enjoy. Therefore, in addition to The Collection being available to Museums, Art Galleries, Organizations, private exhibitions and for shopping mall displays, we’ve made provision for rental opportunities to smaller groups for School activities, Conferences and even Renaissance themed dinners.

The area

Neighbourhood: Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.

    Best museum ever!
The museum was amazing! I got to learn about DaVinci, his art, his inventions and how he thought the womb looked like. The museum is good for kids too because they can play with the recreated inventions that he made. At the reception there’s a shop where you can get a souvenir for anybody! The air conditioning was refreshing and made the experience even better.

We found the whole experience less than inspiring really. Entry was expensive, the rooms were filled with ‘do not touch’ signs and the the whole experience was over in about 30 mins unless you wanted to play downstairs. All 5 of us (including boys aged 10, 13 and 14) really thought they could have done a whole lot better. Interactive maybe??

Great experience, really very interesting. I particularly appreciated the exhibitions that you could interact with during the tour through the various rooms, the possibility of exploring what was around you is worthy of a fantastic museum. Absolutely worth a visit!

The museum is beautiful, accurate and interactive, many models can be tried. The guide, who greeted us smiling, explained everything very well. There is also a room with logic games to solve, also recommended for children.

That was interesting)
I can't believe all these ideas came from one person! What we're using now, the embodiment of the basic principles of dynamics, all of which Leonardo was putting into practice. I never cease to admire the minds of the Italians who created their own culture

Very nice museum. All those inventions in a museum impress. It is also fun for the children because you can try all kinds of devices. (also for adults by the way)
The museum is somewhat outdated in terms of building. If you have a physical disability, you will receive assistance from the employees in using the elevator and the stairlift. The staff of the museum are very helpful and friendly

This is a very nice place to know Leonardo Da Vinci creations and how did they work. But this is a small place, and tranlated explanations are bad, at least to Spanish. However I recommend to go and understand some ingeneering problems.

The visit was very interesting and fun. I stayed at the end of January 2024 with my daughters. It was nice to be able to see and in some cases personally try Leonardo Da Vinci's major inventions. Very positive experience that I recommend to adults and children

Pleasant experience with the family. Well done museum based on Leonardo's studies (Atlantic codex). Divided over 3 floors for different experiences. There is also a laboratory for the little ones and future "Leonardi"
