This is a major and popular piazza. There are many statues including a copy of the statue of David in front of the Palazzo Vecchio where the original statue stood. Other statues are in the loggia and other places in the piazza. It is very crowded with tourists but it is a must see.

Good place for people watching and best in the sun. The iside of the Town hall is mildly interesting but really it's the loggia and sculptures that make ot a must see

During our six nights in Florence we passed through this piazza several time each day, going to and from our hotel (Hotel degli Orafi). We often stopped for lunch at the outdoor restaurant.

Florence is a great city with hundreds of do not miss attractions. It is easy to get caught up in the rush for tickets to the Uffizi and Academia galleries and miss a piazza that is loaded with history and some of the most unique sculptures you will ever see.And all this is available gratis, right next to the Uffizi gallery,in front... This is such a beautiful square especially when it's not crowded. Come at a time when it is virtually empty and it is incredibly atmospheric. But even when it is full of tourists, the architecture is breathtaking and there are bars where you can sit outside and take it all in.

We turned a corner yesterday evening and were in this piazza. It is stunning. I have never seen statues which look like this before. They were incredibly beautiful and yet quite violent. We went again today to see the statues in the daylight. The fountain is beautiful and I would love to see it with water. The absolute highlight of... More

Beautiful and wonderful statues. What a great place to see the beauty and architecture of Italy! very close to the Uffizzi museum which we were not able to tour because of large crowds at this time of year. Make reservations before you ever go for the museum.

This is one of the greatest open art places I ever visit. You'll find there many marble and bronze statues. There is a copy of "El David", "Perseus with the head of Medusa"

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
