Nice tour today with Mario. He was very knowledgeable and gave us a quick overview of the wonderful artists and iconic landmarks. It was very crowded so a bit tough to hear, but he did his best. Thanks, Mario.

My partner and I turned up for this tour and were part of a group of 60+ people. They split the group into two and the two tour guides took their groups on slightly different routes. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. He had a degree in art history and archeology and so was able to go into... More

We had a free walking tour this April on a Saturday. Although it was a crowded tour and our tour guide was a bit hard to hear and understand, he showed us unusual sights and insights into a fabulous city. I would recommend this tour as a way to learn about Florence and it is free!

If this were someone's first free walking tour, they'd end the tour saying, "Well, we got what we paid for." Usually, the free walking tours in cities around Europe are fabulous and informative. This one was not. Mario did not have a knack for story telling. Today, my husband downloaded the Rick Steves audio tour and we listened to it... More

Our first day in Florence included a free walking tour. We have done these in every city that offers them. Simply not a better way to get a quarter with a city, get educated and orientation. This did not disappointed. Great few hours. Great guide. Tip generously if you enjoy the experience. They depend on it 😀

Danieli did our tour of Florence. He was very knowledgeable of the history of Florence. I attended both tours. Renaissance tour in the morning and Medici tour in the afternoon. Definitely worth my time. I highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic introduction to the city of Florence. Great understanding of the art history and culture of the city imparted to a group of 24 people. A very big thank you.

This tour is a nice way to get your whereabouts in Florence, I took part in both tours but I cant say I learnt much from either of them. I preferred the Renaissance tour to the Medici tour but I think that was mainly because the guide was a bit more enthusiastic but either way I would still recommend the... More

I really enjoyed the 11am Renaissance tour. The guide spoke good English and was clearly knowledgeable and passionate about the city. The tour was well paced with enough time at each area to get a good understanding of the history without it being detail heavy.

We did the morning 11 am tour on a Friday in March and I was very disappointed. I've done a few free tours in various European cities and I'm sad to say this was the worst one by far. I don't recall the guide's name but he was a guy and my husband and I both found him very difficult... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
