I went to see the cenacolo at 09:15hrs since they open at 0900hrs. Rang the bell and knocked on the door for 30 minutes and no one dared to answer the door. It's a pity as I would have loved to see such a jewel,...More

There are at least four "cenacoli" -- Renaissance frescoes of the Last Supper -- scattered about Florence. Perugino's effort (late 15C) is a masterful example of the artist's work. Check our Judas with his bag of silver, or the details of the apostles bare feet...More

A perfect quite peaceful place in a busy city. The last supper frescoes here is just beautiful. Stop in, check dates open, only two days per week, mornings. Worth visiting while at San Lorenzo and Mercator Centrale . Walk then to San Marco.

We were waved into this former convent by one of the staff members. I'm glad we took the time. It is open only on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings, and there is no entrance fee, but donations are welcome. The former refectory of the convent,...More

It is always baffling to realize how many humanities and masterpieces are packed into the relatively small town of Florence. I am born and grown up in Florence, an art geek and a teacher by trade, and yet can't say I have seen them all....More
