Chillings on the beach!

Chill beach with very clear water. If you have sensitive feet you need to wear water shoes. The water has a good temperature and it's good for swimming.

While the water looks clear and beautiful like at Isola Bella, I was really disappointed to see how the portion of sea reserved to swim was tiny and that the boats were literally in front of our face when looking at the sea from the beach. So we decided to not stay and we headed to Isola Bella instead.

To visit the main resort of Taormina which is situated above Mazzaro you needed to use the funivia at 3 euros per person each way. Mazzaro is situated on a busy road with paths and steps leading down to a beach.

Again a steep walk down to the beach but once you are there it is worth it. Lido Mazzaro is a lively beach for families and couples. We hired sun loungers for the day and again found these great value for money. Here you can walk directly into the sea from the beach (beach shoes recommended). I loved swimming in... More

Mazzaro is always a pleasant change from Taormina. Quiet, fishing boats, some beautiful hotels and Il Barcaiolo Restaurante!!! My favorite place to eat in the Taormina area!!!

My wife and I visited during the first week of June. We found restaurant and beach staff very helpful and pleasant (after a cable car ride and around 100 steps). Unfortunately the same could not be said of the Asian women offering massages on the beach. They came straight up to us and I naively said yes! After a 30... More

Beach itself is nice, but really packed: like 6-10m of beach sand/gravel and then restaurants/shops (from outside - they seem like for stupid tourist expensive places :) ). We arrived from funivia and stairs/env to arrive is quite rubbish... (no surprise, this matches Sicilian style). Water and see view are really nice. During nice day, I believe, it would be... More

We visited Mazzaro via the cable-car from Taormina and it was wall-to-wall sunbeds and umbrellas. If that's the type of holiday for you then you won't be disappointed, but this was only May, and I can only imagine how busy it would be in July/August. The bay itself is pretty and the water is very clear. There are plenty of... More

This was a pretty little beach with boats at one end. However, much of the beach was taken up with private lidos; the public area was very small indeed and among the boats. OK when we were there in May but it must be impossible in season unless you pay up for a lido. Access is not obvious. We walked... More

Like the location and it had a nice little restaurant right there for lunch. Also some people were wind surfing and some were taking boating trips. The water was absolutely crystal clear like a glass of water because of the pebbled bottom instead of sand.
