Because of renovation work being carried out ti was not possible to enter the castle or even walk around most of the outside. Clearly we visited at a 'pre season' period but nevertheless we would have expected at least a view of the majority of...More

A bit disappointing because main bit of castle was closed for repair work but it wasn't that costly to get in. some good exhibition areas once in

Not just the castle proper, but walkways with the beat views are closed as well. The stories about when the castle and grounds will fully reopen are vague to an extreme.

Shame you can't go into the castle because of the renovation, but cheap to get in so didn't mind having a wander round the walls. There's a small but interesting museum as well which had some interesting artifacts.

Well worth the visit but it is under renovation as of 25 nov 17. There is no access to the castle. Still worth the trip for the views and the exhibits. Not much of a gift shop but it is a great place to visit....More

Lovely setting for a well preserved Castle. The grounds are clean and easily accessable. Great views from around its walls of the sea and harbour areas. Not a lot to do inside but a good chance to rest and take in the sun.

This is under major renovation and you can’t go into the main castle at all. You can walk on the walls a little, so it’s worth going in for this alone. Only €2 entry. Remember only open in mornings and not every day.

when we lived in Siracusa 41 years ago we were never able to visit this amazing place as it was then being used as a barracks. The staff admit that there is work in progress but we still enjoyed looking round this ruin and gazing...More
