Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The beautiful fountain showes the Bounty Goddess rides an eagel and fight Hydra. The fountain cnsists of a basin built of three shells supported on dolphin heads. A very nice fountain. It is highly recommended for anyone traveling on Piazza Marina NOT to miss it.

We noticed this fountain and the small park as were began our walk up Via Vittorio Emanuele from Piazza Marina.

The name comes from the Arabic word "Gharraf", which means the abundance of water.

This is an intricately carved fountain in a square which is historic as it was originally part of the dock area . Most of the fountains in the city don’t work and when we saw it this was no exception.

The Arabic word ‘gharraf’ means abundance of water. This Baroque fountain in Piazza Marina/Cassaro Street is more of a trickle. It was sculpted by Gioacchino Vitagliano in 1698. The complex sculpture represents an ‘abundance goddess’ riding an eagle while fighting hydra. The fountain and sculptures was in the Vucciria market, at the Genio del Garraffo monument until 1862, when it was moved to its present location. The history of the sculpture incorporating fountains is the significance of this site. Three centuries ago, visitors marveled at the complexity of the sculptures.

This is a nice little fountain & if in the area, its worth a look. I wouldn't make a special trip just to see it though. Nothing like fontana Pretoria which IS worth a special trip to see.

It is a small baroque style fountain located in Plaza Marina. in the central area of Palermo. We passed by by chance, returning to our cruise the MSC Poesía and we only took some photos of it.

It takes its name from the square where it was initially located (Piazza del Garraffo, alla Vucciria)
Dating back to 1968, it was moved here in 1862
