Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wish i read Reviews before visiting :). I had one medium Fisch, 5 smal crabs and 5 squids for 22€. I Kinda of wondered is it maybe too much since it is a market and a decent meals i had in Restaurants for 8€.Then i saw locals eating like from huuuuge plates, i was like no way, they would pay pay for that at least 100€,acorrding to my meal. I come to Realisation i paid "tourist" praise.Too bad, because the meal was pretty decent gotta give them that.

All kinds of vendors and merchandise, make for a sometimes sublime and sometimes gritty street scene. Great for people watching. Just wander around.

I visited this area, expecting a busy, vibrant market, full of stalls selling fresh fruit, fish and vegetables. Instead, I got a fairly uninspiring mix of small stalls, most with not much to offer and it is more of a tourist trap, rather than a typical Sicilian market. That said, I did have lunch in 1 of the restaurants and the food was good. It is not somewhere I would definitely recommend, as there are better markets in Palermo but if you happen to be in the area, it's worth a quick look. It did get very busy and packed, so it it probably a hot spot for pickpockets, so be aware.

Having read reviews recommending this market I expected something extensive, full of fresh produce and noise. What I found was an anticlimax with very few shops offering fresh produce. This is definitely not one of the top touristic attractions of Palermo.

The "Vucciria" is one of the historical markets in Palermo. "Vucciria" means confusion in Sicilian.
I passed through this market a couple of times: there are a few stalls, but it looks like different stalls are open on different days / different times.
It's really nothing special, and prices are very high, especially for tourists.

Once famed for its bountiful produce and other food stuff, it's been greatly reduced to tourist-trap restaurants and junk souvenir shops. It's honestly not even worth going to this part of town for. If you want to see an outdoor market that is still a functioning market, go to Ballaro.

This market was excellent!! Had some oysters from the shell and urchin. Not far from the Cathedral (deffo worth a visit!), this market had pretty much every local foodstuff you could want. The flat peaches were particularly good and a favourite with the kids! Cheap and the people were nice and friendly. Great atmosphere.

Stopped in this market for something to eat on way to a performance.ance at Teatro Massimo. It had a good buzz and I can imagine it's great fun later at night- unfortunately I don't make it back to see!

Great little market, some groovy spots... but stay away from BAR WAY on the corner down the hill, unless you like cold food cooked badly & being ripped off when you try to pay for it. Instead, go one door up where the guy next door cooks his pasta out front & a line of locals wait patiently for what is clearly delicious.

Its a must go in Palermo. I bought some great tuna, lemons and olives, lots of olives...
Great to walk around but prices and poaple are very much used to foreigners and happy to put up a show. I can seem a bit fake..
