Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Such a disappointment after walking across the city to find a fairground set up in the park. So much for a peaceful walk in nature away from the traffic and bustling people!

There is a really beautiful sculpture which is surrounded by graffiti, see picture, and some nice trees but nothing special. There was also rubbish spread around everywhere which seems to be a common feature of the streets and green spaces.

The English Garden is on the Via Della Liberta at Via Duca Della Verdura. You can stroll among huge Moreton Bay Fig that was planted in 1851 (+30). There are fountains, flowers, a small cafe, and toilets! This is a great place to escape from the hustle of the city.

Compared to the Botanical Gardens this park is better maintained. It is a lovely quiet spot in the city and is used by locals for their own sanctuary. There is incredible statuary by Rutelli which is frequently overlooked by the guide books. There is no fee for entry (again, unlike the Botanical) and there is a small cafe with toilet inside.

The English Garden in Palermo [Giardino Inglese] is located between Via della Liberta and Via Gen dalla Chiesa, being a significant walk from my hotel near Piazza Gulia Cesare [station square].
The gardens are mainly large trees and shrubs, but with expansive hard-paved areas.
I visited on a Sunday morning, and it was delightful to see so many family groups of locals using the hard-paved open area as space to play: Young children learning to ride little bicycles or roller blades, others blowing bubbles with toys, playing with helium-filled balloons or kicking a ball.
All the play was discreet; there were no wild or loud scenes, a quiet mood and ambience.
A central café had reasonably priced food and drink and provided the only toilet facility.
A few stall-holders offered children's toys and colourful balloons.
One purpose of my visit was to see the statue "Bambini che giocano tra gli scogli" - "Children playing on rocks' by the famous 19th-20th century Palermo sculptor, Mario Rutelli, who also made the fabulous "Fontana delle Naiadi" in Piazza della Repubblica, Rome, and other works.
I recommend the English Gardens, Palermo as a quiet place for personal reflection and for families with energetic young children who need space to play and burn off their energy!

Very nice English park, good for a twenty-minute stroll with a friend. The only blemish is the usual youth-culture, stupidity-is-good blemish: spray-paint graffiti.

This was a lovely quiet place to sit and read in the centre of Palermo and seemed better kept than the Botanic Gardens and no entrance fee! Well used by various groups of the community with a cafe in the centre. Lots of bus routes run right past the park so very easy to get to or an easy walk from Politeama.

I walked around the English garden in winter, and it was so beautiful! I suppose the garden is even more beautiful in the spring and summer ... Anyway, I enjoyed the sun that eats but does not burn and I enjoyed the beauty of the garden.

Good for some moments of rest on a bench. The parc is not that big though so do not expect too much. Small bar in the main square.
