Well worth visiting. For only 3 euros not only do you get to see a collection of historical paintings and artifacts, but you can also access a viewing point from which you can see Etna.

The fortress was built by the sea, like a castle near the bay. But in the 17th century after the eruption of Mount Etna, the castle has appeared on land and sea receded. Around now are residential neighborhoods. But the castle surrounded by a moat, which clearly shows the level of lava that surrounded the fort. Beautiful and very romantic.

Although it was an interesting building there was not as much to see inside as I thought from previous reviews, there is a huge amount of rather average religious painting and a few nice mosaics, it otherwise the architecture is the only redeeming feature

I really enjoyed my visit to the castello, the entrance fee is 6 euros and there are several exhibits housed within the old castle walls. When I was there they had an Andy Warhol exhibition at no extra cost.

At the time we visited there was a temporary Warhol exhibition on the 2nd floor, which was an interesting contrast to the historical art and sculpture exhibits on the lower floors.

Fairy tale castle with towers. Inside it is a museum and art gallery with plenty to see, and most of the building is accessible.

The building itself is impressive and I nice collection of art in the premises on different floors , the Castle is unique . I had the chance to visit this museum/castle a few days ago while staying in Catania. Very well preserved building with nice and interesting paintings and other art pieces.

This is an imposing edifice (for Catania) located in an attractive little square. BTW, in the square, directly opposite the castle entrance on opposite side of the square is an excellent restaurant (Antonio's). And Camelot, to the right serves great pizza and other dishes. Back to the castle- it isn't cheap to visit but it's not a rip-off because you... More

Absolutely stunning castle in immaculate condition. We went and purchased tickets to look inside thinking we would be seeing the inners of an architectural masterpiece and how the castle was setup, used and its history. Instead its an art gallery. We paid a reduced enterance rate as it was the first Sunday of the month and it was still a... More
