Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I went to visit marzamemi with the expectation of a characteristic and suggestive place, which became a tourist pole after the cessation of the tuna slaughter.
But I didn't expect to be in an open-air mall.
Entered the village on the left the row of premises, on the right the stalls on the quay, so the sea and the port can not even be seen.
Not even the ancient trap on the marina was saved from the aggression of savage capitalism.
It would be appropriate to make it a museum that tells about tuna fishing and the life of the country at the time.
But that, too, is full of stalls rented to street vendors.
Prices to eat on the spot totally crazy everywhere, considering the context, the chaos, the density of the tables, and the streets/harbour reduced to smelly bins.
I understand that people live here in tourism, but you also understand that there is nothing characteristic to see anymore.
The source of tourism they killed, they will live on rent on the name of the place for years but it will not last forever.
As far as I'm concerned, they won't see me again.
I think it is better to go to a shopping center where at least it is cool, clean, does not smell, and parking spaces do not cost 3 euros on dirt.
Too bad about the defaced place.
Very bad the municipal administration.

Marzamemi is a wonderful town... Well-kept in the heart of the town, full of clubs and nightlife in the summer.
Clean, sandy beaches and crystal clear water.
The food isn't bad but the prices are sky high... From simple ice cream to supermarket shopping to a fish dinner... It feels like being in the center of Milan.
All merchants should absolutely lower their prices.

A jumble of everything, bad smells, absence of services, absence of sidewalks, all left to the wild initiative of citizens. Absent administration. The hamlet remains suggestive, but full of tables for dinner, the block is always not recovered in part. But the high street is really unhospitable, low-level clubs, street food trucks, rides, insignificant shops. Zone port pit left without any criteria without a direction. Too bad, having nature on your side and not knowing how to make the most of it. Vote 2

Apart from the tuna fishery transformed into a village (the square at sunset is a nativity scene), I would say it was a disappointing experience. Unfortunately Marzamemi is very shabby, the August rush of the visit period will certainly have had an impact but the dirt left by (uncivilized) visitors is everywhere and the lack of cleanliness on the part of those who manage it is embarrassing. The village comes alive at 6pm and continues with loud music until 3am, a bit too much, so if you love tranquility, it's better to visit it out of season. The boat trip from which you can better appreciate the sea was very beautiful, it was impossible to stop on the free beach accessible from the village, in fact there was a carpet of glass splinters from various broken bottles on the sand.

Characteristic fishing village. In recent years it has been experiencing a strong influx of tourists and risks losing its initial authenticity. a stop not to be missed if you are in the area. If possible eat in the evening in one of the restaurants present, all very nice.

Totally overrated. Small town invaded by thousands and thousands of tourists attracted by the name (which in a few years will no longer attract . Single parking at 3 € . Two streets full of activity dated decades. Restaurants pluck tourists. Smells like sewer everywhere and trash is king

Seaside village with a small square and tuna fishery that seems like a fairy tale. We stayed on a February day so it was very low season, but the little square still has its charm. Total absence of tourists and only a couple of places open. The little square is a jewel, very well maintained and cared for. Absolutely worth visiting

Spizzuliu has a long history, created by Matteo, a brilliant and creative chef. Then, after his sudden death, the change of hands: in the kitchen his daughter Giuliana, in the dining room two other women, his wife Paola and second daughter Ramona, always polite and efficient. Cuisine with a strong Sicilian connotation. And raw material from ten and praise treated with light hand and very refined. A la carte three recommendations of unmissable dishes, raw fish (from encore if not from tris), spaghetti with seafood and hedgehogs (when they are on the Point of Sale) and fusilloni alla Norma. Other dishes not to be missed are crispy octopus and the baked catch of the day with potatoes and cherries. Desserts: heavenly the Don Matteo and the coffee foam. The wine list is well cared for.

Marzameni is a wedding favor, yes, in August it is packed with tourists, but they are all kind and patient, the food is good and there is a fantastic atmosphere. I preferred this small village to the famous Taormina. Highly recommended

Shameful country. The whole main street smells like sewer, where instead of finding places with typical products, it is studded with mediocre places, very few bars, and repeated unwatchable souvenir shops.
Non-existent services, beaches abandoned to themselves.
Definitely high prices offered by the various beaches and restaurants, especially the worst and most botched ones.
I strongly advise against the visit, it's not even worth a quick pit stop.
